Anna Pompeeva
ANNA POMPEEVA is a Ukrainian lyric-dramatic soprano recognized for her warm, richly colored voice, vocal freedom, and expressive stage presence.
Since relocating to Canada in 2023, she has established herself on the Canadian opera and concert stage, performing with Calgary Opera, Edmonton Opera, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Calgary Civic Symphony, and Orchestre Classique de Montréal.
Recent highlights include appearances at Ottawa Chamberfest (2026), the soprano solo in Verdi’s Requiem with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra under Karen Kamensek (2026), and Sieglinde in Wagner’s Die Walküre with Edmonton Opera (2025).
Upcoming engagements include Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello with Calgary Opera and Sibelius’s Luonnotar with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
From 2013 to 2022, Pompeeva was a leading soprano with the Kharkiv National Opera and Ballet Theatre, where her repertoire included Leonora (Il trovatore), Tosca, and Desdemona (Otello), among other leading roles. Pompeeva is a prizewinner of international vocal competitions in Italy and Ukraine and holds a PhD in Musical Arts, as well as degrees in Choral Conducting and Performance & Pedagogy from Kharkiv National University of Arts.
