Land Acknowledgment

As a community volunteer organization whose members were born on the lands of many nations and based in Calgary, we acknowledge that we are situated on and utilize the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 Region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai Nations), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.

We recognize the painful history and ongoing struggles of Indigenous communities in this region. Our commitment to supporting marginalized communities is informed by a deep respect for the land we occupy and the Indigenous peoples who have lived here for generations.
